In order for the air inflated membrane structure to remain stable, it needs to provide it with a continuous supply of wind power through the inflation system, so that there is enough pressure to support the membrane body and to resist the external wind and snow loads. This means that the air inflated membrane building needs to have a certain degree of sealing.

However, the air inflated membrane building is a prefabricated building. In addition to various joints, there are also door and window units and vents. It is unrealistic to keep the inside of the air inflated membrane completely closed. Today, Beijing Xinyuan Air Dome will take stock of the most prone locations for air leakage in air membrane buildings.

Air leakage mainly occurs in the following locations:

(1) The connection between the main body of the membrane structure and the foundation. The type of foundation anchor and the firmness of the installation connection will affect the amount of air leakage.

(2) Membrane unit connection seam. The node form of the membrane unit connection seam is different, and the amount of air leakage is also different.

(3) Assembly of entrances and exits. The amount of air leakage will change with the type, size and number of entrances and exits.

(4) Mechanical equipment. There will also be a certain amount of air leakage in the air supply ducts of various mechanical equipment.

(5) Ventilation openings. The air leakage between different types of vents varies greatly, depending on the size, location, number of people accommodated, and size and number of ventilation devices.

(6) Other openings. For example, air leakage at specific locations, windows, etc. will vary with the size of these openings.

The amount of air leakage at these locations is more or less difficult to avoid. As long as it is controlled within a reasonable range, there will be no hidden dangers. Therefore, this requires that both the main fan and the backup fan must ensure sufficient air supply capacity.

The fan equipped with the air membrane building of Beijing Xinyuan Air Dome can complete the initial air membrane inflation work in a relatively short time under normal air leakage conditions. After the air membrane is inflated, under the action of the designed internal pressure, its air volume can offset the corresponding air leakage to ensure normal air pressure supply. In short, it can provide the pressure supply required by the design and meet the air supply requirements under the maximum pressure supply, ensuring that the air membrane building has sufficient stability.
