We all know that air-supported structures rely on air pressure for their shape, which comes from dedicated blowers. This often leads to a common concern: what happens if the power goes out while you're inside an air dome? Will it collapse?
The good news is that Xinyuan Air Dome has already addressed this potential issue with a comprehensive emergency plan. To prevent unexpected situations, each air-supported structure is equipped with not only a primary and a backup blower, but also a backup power source. In the event of a municipal power outage, the backup generator system will automatically activate.
Here are some common types of backup power sources:
- Diesel Generators: These are easy to install but can be difficult to start in low temperatures.
- Natural Gas Generators: These use natural gas or LPG as fuel and are not affected by environmental conditions.
- Gasoline Generators: Ideal for locations without natural gas, and also not affected by environmental conditions.
Xinyuan Air Dome most commonly uses diesel generators as their backup power source. Under normal operating conditions, the backup diesel generator system can run continuously for 48 hours, which is more than enough to maintain the normal operation of the air dome. Once municipal power is restored, the smart control system will switch the power supply back to the main grid, and the backup power source will automatically shut down. Therefore, users do not need to worry excessively about power outages.
