Recently, Xinyuan Air Membrane has successfully landed a pioneering project in Singapore - air-ribbed pit air membrane, which is not only another manifestation of Xinyuan Air Membrane's overseas technological strength, but also sets a new benchmark for the environmental protection standard of Singapore's building construction.
In Singapore, a modern, high-density metropolis known as the "Garden City", infrastructure and property development never stop. However, balancing the need for continuous construction with stringent environmental standards on limited land resources has always been a central challenge.
Singapore's National Environment Agency (NEA) and the Building Authority (BA) have strict standards for environmental management of construction sites, focusing mainly on noise control and dust control - time-of-day noise limits are imposed, sites are often required to install real-time noise monitoring systems, and violators face hefty fines or even stop-work orders; all sites are required to submit and implement a "pollution control plans". The National Environment Agency (NEA) also strictly monitors PM10 and PM2.5 concentrations in the vicinity of construction sites through unannounced inspections and dust film monitors to ensure that there is "zero dispersion" of dust into the community.
In addition to the stringent environmental protection pressure, the project in progress, "CCCC Harbour Ring Singapore Sophia Pit Project", also has unfavourable factors such as the close proximity to roads, long and narrow terrain, and the frequent entry and exit of construction vehicles. In order to assist the project owner to successfully cope with the environmental difficulties, COSCO Air Membrane has designed a semi-enclosed air-ribbed pit air membrane - i.e., using air-ribbed units as the main support system, without relying on the mountain wall or large-scale steel structures, the air membrane can effectively cover the excavation area of the pit, inhibit the diffusion of dust, and reduce the impact of noise.
The outer diameter of this air-ribbed pit air membrane is 26.4×20×11m, with a projected area of 528 square metres. When the project was installed during the rainy weather, the construction team of Xinyuan Air Membrane took less than 4 days to complete the whole process of pit air membrane work from material entry to installation and commissioning, so that the pit was free from the influence of the rainy period stoppage, and gained valuable schedule progress for the subsequent construction of the project.
The successful implementation of the first pit air membrane project in Singapore by Beijing Xinyuan Yijia Membrane Structure Technology Co., Ltd. is not a simple upgrade of construction enclosure, but provides a new proactive environmental management solution to overseas construction sites. In the future, Sinoair will continue to provide high-quality, environmentally friendly and efficient air membrane solutions for more projects around the world by virtue of its technological and service advantages, so as to promote the development of the building construction industry in a greener and smarter direction.
