It turns out that the reason for the low usage rate of light transmittance membrane is that it has several unavoidable shortcomings.
In order to pursue good light transmittance, light-transmitting membrane sacrifices the density of the fabric layer of the membrane. The fabric layer is more susceptible to the erosion of ultraviolet rays, resulting in the service life of the translucent membrane material compared with the non-translucent membrane material, reduced by at least 1/3.
In addition to this, the use of large areas of light-transmitting membranes can make the thermal insulation function of inflatable membrane buildings greatly reduced. As a result of the large area of light penetrating into the inflatable membrane building, it will accelerate the rise of temperature inside the building in summer, which will result in the waste of energy consumption.
Therefore, inflatable membrane buildings generally only use a small area of light-transmitting membrane as a light strip or embellishment to use, rather than using a large area of light-transmitting membrane on the main membrane material.
