With the rapid development of the economy, the air membrane building with beautiful and novel appearance, affordable cost, efficient construction cycle and energy saving and environmental protection characteristics quickly entered the market in all major areas, air inflated stadium, air inflated storage, air inflated workshop, air inflated cabin and other new buildings throughout the country. And in the extreme weather, these air membrane buildings are also facing challenges.

In order to make the air membrane building successfully cope with the challenges of various kinds of harsh environments, and at the same time increase its service life, Beijing Xinyuan Yijia Membrane Structure Technology Co., Ltd. reminds you that regular inspection of the air membrane structure building is an essential matter.

Inspection items are generally as follows:

1. inspect the overconnecting membrane for damage, snow or ice build-up

2. check the tensioning of the strain relief cables at the openings

3. Inspect all membrane surface sections for damage or small holes.

4. cable joints and their covering membranes

5. other areas to be inspected, such as heat damage and corrosion in the vicinity of the working area, damage to the anchorage perimeter due to snow removal, membrane coverage of the vehicle access road, etc.

Note 1: Clear Space for Materials and Equipment Stored Inside an Inflatable Membrane Building

Materials or equipment placed inside the inflatable membrane building must maintain a certain headroom with the membrane. The flexible building will deform under wind loads. At higher wind speeds, the deformation is aggravated by the relative reduction in internal air pressure. If air pressure is lost at higher wind speeds, the deformation and movement of the membrane will cause friction with the materials inside the inflatable membrane building, resulting in damage to the membrane.

In order to avoid contact with the inflatable building, any material stored inside the inflatable building must have a minimum clearance of 1.5 metres from the inner membrane and be protected by soft-covered rounded corners.

Note 2: Avoid any sharp objects

Sharp objects (e.g. vertical pipes or rods, sharp-edged boards or shelves, (non-collapsible light stands, etc.) must be prevented from coming into contact with the inner and outer membranes at all times and in all locations. In case of high wind speed or heavy snowfall, extra care should be taken because the building membrane will be deflected or deformed, and the membrane will be damaged if it touches or rubs against sharp objects.

Note 3: Snow

Unlike conventional buildings, inflatable buildings do not have the capacity to carry the weight of excessive snow, which means that snow cannot be allowed to accumulate for long periods of time at the top of the inflatable building and at the soft curtains connecting the access routes. To avoid this, snow removal measures must be taken in a timely manner.
