In order to resist wind and snow loads, inflatable membrane structures will use membrane materials with sufficient strength when designing. In order to further strengthen the membrane surface and reduce the stress on the membrane surface, Beijing Xinyuan Yijia Membrane Structure Technology Co., Ltd. generally chooses to attach cable nets to the membrane surface. The use of cable nets can reduce the requirements for membrane material strength to a certain extent, thereby reducing the cost of the project. Of course, in addition to cost factors, cable nets have a positive effect on the shape and stability of air membrane buildings.

The shape of the cable net is not fixed. Common cable net shapes include: longitudinal and transverse cable nets, oblique cross cable nets, circular radial cable nets and other shapes of cable nets.

As the name suggests, the longitudinal and transverse cable nets are composed of longitudinal and transverse cable bodies at a certain distance, which are cross-attached to the membrane surface. When the span of the air membrane structure is relatively small, the longitudinal and transverse cable nets can be simplified to unidirectional parallel cable nets. Since there are fewer intersections of the longitudinal and transverse cable nets, in order to ensure that the position of the cable body does not shift, Xinyuan air membranes usually weld additional steel cable fixing points on the membrane surface. This cable net shape is easy to construct and has a simple appearance, making it suitable for small-span air-membrane structure buildings.

For air-supported buildings with larger spans, oblique cross cable nets are generally considered. This type of cable net can effectively distribute the load borne by the membrane surface, reduce the stress on the membrane surface, and thus ensure the stability of the air-supported building. Oblique cross cable nets can be divided into oblique orthogonal cable nets and oblique geodesic cable nets. This type of cable net is not only beautiful in appearance, but also can effectively transfer the stress on the membrane surface and allow the air-supported structure to maintain better stability. Their disadvantage is that the processing and installation of the cable body are relatively complicated.

When the air-membrane building is in the shape of a truncated sphere and the building plane is circular, a radial cable net is generally used. This type of cable net has a beautiful appearance and can effectively reduce the stress on the membrane surface, but the cable body diameter may be large and the scope of application is relatively small.

In addition to the above three common cable net shapes, the designers of Beijing Xinyuan Yijia Membrane Structure Technology Co., Ltd. can also design other cable net shapes with reasonable spacing, beautiful appearance and easy construction according to the characteristics of the project.
