The air-rib component is crafted from specialized membrane material into curved tubular shapes. Once inflated, these tubes gain both rigidity and stability, forming a robust supporting structure. The track system provides mobility to the entire apparatus, allowing the air-ribs to move flexibly along the tracks.
In late 2024, the Long'ao Building Station project of Jinan Metro Line 7 became the first to utilize this technology. The station's location is particularly sensitive, being adjacent to the Jinan Municipal Government and situated alongside a main urban road.
