The project site is located on Guangqumenwai Street in Dongcheng District, Beijing, at the junction of Guangqu Road and Metro Lines 7 and 17. The excavation pit has a compact footprint and an irregular shape, with limited construction space. As the site must accommodate large-scale excavation and transport equipment, there are stringent requirements regarding the enclosure of the construction area and the utilisation of available space. Consequently, a single-layer air-supported excavation pit membrane structure with an external cable-net covering has been proposed as a protective measure.
The air-supported structure for this project has a projected area of 6,170 m². The main membrane material is a light-blocking PVDF membrane, and the structure is equipped with three variable-frequency fans, utilising a top-exhaust ventilation system. The project is fitted with an intelligent control system and environmental monitoring sensors capable of detecting parameters such as dust concentration, PM10, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen dioxide and noise levels.
