According to the different forms of the enclosed space in the membrane, the inflatable membrane structure can be divided into four types: air bearing membrane structure, air rib membrane structure, air pillow membrane structure and air bag membrane structure.
(1) Air bearing membrane structure: the membrane surface of the inflatable membrane structure does not produce a closed surface itself, and its surrounding is fixed in a rigid boundary or foundation, and the closed space is generated by the membrane surface, the surrounding closed boundary and the indoor road surface. The air bearing membrane structure uses the internal air pressure to support the membrane surface and generate the main body of the building. The interior does not need any frame and beam and column support, but must maintain airtight to maintain the indoor air pressure. The commonly used appearance of air-borne membrane structures is spherical and cylindrical.
(2) Air rib membrane structure: the membrane surface of the aerated membrane structure itself produces a curved surface and a closed space, the appearance is usually tubular, and the pressurized air functions on the membrane surface and produces a self-balancing system. The interior of the air rib membrane structure does not need to be sealed, and personnel are more free to enter and exit.
(3) Air pillow membrane structure: a structural system usually composed of several air-pillow units. The membrane surface of each air pillow unit produces a closed curved surface and a closed space, around which a rigid skeleton is fixed.
(4) Air bag membrane structure: the membrane surface of the inflatable membrane structure itself produces a closed surface and closed space, the appearance is cystoid, the size of the capsule is relatively large, the overall structure can be composed of a sac, the internal function of the pressurized gas on the membrane surface, the structure itself produces a balanced system, and it is also fixed or supported on the rigid boundary around.
